Rippeteau Architects sponsored Transformer’s annual benefit auction gala held this year at the Katzen Art Center on the American University campus in Northwest Washington, DC. Transformer Gallery shows emerging artists and arranges such cultural enrichment programs as Artists in Residence at the Italian Ambassador’s home this year. Darrel and Judy Rippeteau (pictured above) attended the gala Saturday evening with an energetic crowd of art enthusiasts and investors. Learn more about Transformer here.
Canstruction is a nationwide program that aims to raise awareness about hunger. In DC, Canstruction is organized by the Washington Architectural Foundation as a creative design-build competition that benefits the Capital Area Food Bank through donations of canned goods. Teams from architecture and design firms from Washington, DC use their skills to build sculptures out of cans of food that gets donated to the Capital Area Food Bank for distribution to those in need after the event.
